Legal Strategy Meets Results

During my time at Compass, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Brad Serwin as our General Counsel. Brad stepped away from Compass at the start of this year to start his private practice, Serwin Group.

Brad’s deep experience and calm demeanor provides a steady hand in legal advice for private or public companies. His approach helps teams navigate complexity with clear judgment, steady execution, and a focus on timely, successful outcomes.

Brad Serwin and companies

The most compelling attribute of Brad’s approach is the business objective drives the process and his legal expertise supports the strategy. It’s not often you find an attorney that will engage with opportunities small and large, simple or complex, and yet never lose sight of the desired business outcome.

The range of Brad’s judgement stems from years of experience in the entertainment industry, hospitality, high-technology companies, and, of course, real estate. I gained deep respect for Brad’s advice through the Compass IPO in April 2021 and dozens of M&A deals—from small teams to the Anywhere merger, the largest in our industry’s history.

Brad is back in private practice after decades of general counsel roles with public and private companies. He is particularly focused on helping companies with no, or few, in-house attorneys facing transactions or situations that are high-stakes, time-sensitive, or require the highest strategic judgment.

Brad hopes to help those companies navigate these important matters himself or in partnership with a company's regular outside counsel. Brad always said most companies pay too much for their outside lawyers because they aren't experienced in managing those very expensive lawyers. That's where Brad's years of experience as general counsel allow him to excel for his clients.

I recommend Brad as counsel for your business. If you would like an introduction, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

This is Where We Are Now.

Thanks!
Mark
